This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
β’ Deliver essential live coverage of global events.
β’ Guarantee the quality, promptness, and significance of alerts, content, and information.
β’ Mentor and assist fellow analysts while contributing to the development of the Asia-Pacific team.
β’ Supervise a minimum of two analysts, offering performance feedback, coaching, and setting goals.
β’ Recruit, onboard, and train new team members as necessary.
β’ Utilize experience, judgment, and playbooks to prioritize high-impact and relevant events.
β’ Collect, verify, and curate social media information in real-time.
β’ Expand the scope and depth of real-time crisis coverage.
β’ Contribute to shared resources that enhance content and information discovery.
β’ Engage in an internal working group concentrating on geopolitics, forward planning, forecasting, or climate disasters.
β’ Facilitate daily operations through real-time feedback, scheduling, rostering, approval of leave, and interdepartmental communication.
β’ Maintain the company's culture and values.
β’ Collaborate with analysts via audio calls during shifts to monitor incidents and provide customer context in real-time.
β’ Located in Australia.
β’ Relevant degree (political science, international relations, journalism, etc.) or proven experience in preparing real-time reports or analyses for crisis management or in a newsroom setting.
β’ Minimum of one year of management experience, including coaching and conducting performance reviews.
β’ Authorization to work full-time in Australia, without the need for visa sponsorship or restrictions.
β’ Passion for breaking news and current affairs.
β’ Knowledge of social media newsgathering and fact-finding techniques.
β’ Capability to work independently and remotely as part of a diverse, globally distributed team.
β’ Interest in geopolitical matters and their effects on businesses, individuals, and governments.
β’ Flexibility to cover shifts in support of the wider APAC team.
