This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• As the Lead AI/Agent Architect, you will take ownership of the technical track.
• Your responsibilities include designing the agent orchestration model, the tool-use architecture, and the human-in-the-loop protocol, as well as establishing the secure sandbox environment for the system.
• You will transform a fragmented, document-heavy operational workflow into a secure, auditable, and scalable agent system, while clearly defining the boundaries between automation and expert judgment.
• You are responsible for ensuring an architecture that handles live transaction scenarios from start to finish, requiring human intervention only at documented gates, and that can extend to adjacent workflows without necessitating a rebuild.
• Take charge of the orchestrator agent that maintains the deal state machine, directing work to one specialist agent at each stage, and defining protocols for handoffs and cross-stage integrations.
• Design the typed tool layer as the integration seam that links to sample data in the sandbox and to live systems in production, ensuring that transitioning to production involves a connector change rather than a complete rebuild.
• Establish the required approval gates and review checkpoints, ensuring the agent does not execute binding legal or financial actions without broker confirmation.
• Manage the sandbox data model and test scenarios, while defining the approaches for security, compliance, and data governance.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML, or solutions architecture, with a proven record of designing and delivering production-grade systems, along with recent hands-on experience in architecting LLM or multi-agent systems.
• Expertise in Agent Systems: Extensive, hands-on experience with agent orchestration, tool and function calling, state management, and retrieval, preferably in production environments rather than prototypes.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Python (or equivalent), API and connector design, typed tool and interface design, alongside experience with modern data stores such as PostgreSQL.
• Systems Thinking: Demonstrated capability to design comprehensive solutions that connect data pipelines, model services, business logic, and user-facing applications under real operational constraints.
• Human-in-the-Loop & Governance: Experience in designing guardrails, approval gates, auditability, and traceability for high-stakes, document-heavy domains where decisions must be clear and reviewable.
• Domain Knowledge: Previous experience in commercial real estate, legal, financial services, or other structured, document-driven transaction domains is highly desirable.
• Path to Production: Hands-on experience transitioning a sandbox or prototype system to production through connector and tool abstraction, including aspects such as performance, monitoring, deployment, and rollback.
• AI-Native Workflow: Proficient in utilizing LLM code assistants and agentic engineering to enhance speed, quality, and architectural clarity.
• Agile Execution: Ability to work effectively in rapid, hypothesis-driven delivery cycles with a focus on demonstrating value quickly while minimizing unnecessary technical debt.
• Work from anywhere, forever - We operate as a fully remote and global team, trusting you to manage your time and energy to achieve outstanding results.
• Connect deeply - We host immersive, all-expenses-paid company retreats in unique locations, fostering connection, learning, and growth together.
• Share in the upside - A competitive compensation package that includes equity, bonuses, and significant participation in company profits, with a clear growth trajectory to C-Level leadership based on performance.
