This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define and enhance architectural and engineering practices across various teams.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers and technical leaders to make informed decisions on complex system designs.
• Lead the creation of technical designs, RFCs, architecture reviews, and critical code assessments.
• Develop and deploy production systems in AI, backend, cloud, infrastructure, and full-stack applications.
• Enhance CI/CD processes, testing, observability, reliability, security, and overall developer experience.
• Create reusable platforms, libraries, reference implementations, and streamlined workflows for teams.
• Assist in the design and operation of production AI systems, covering model integration, orchestration, retrieval, evaluation, and monitoring.
• Contribute to cloud infrastructure and tackle complex production challenges.
• Mentor engineers and elevate technical standards through active leadership.
• Ensure the sustained effectiveness of engineering standards post-implementation.
• Drive the transformation of engineering practices from ad hoc features to scalable, resilient systems.
• Establish release lifecycle practices.
• Enhance the quality and consistency of technical designs across teams.
• Set engineering guardrails to minimize recurring architectural errors and duplication, while boosting developer velocity, reliability, and operational quality.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to Engineering Managers and senior engineers.
• Over 15 years of experience in architecture.
• Experience as a Founding Engineer in scaling startups.
• Ability to influence multiple teams without formal authority.
• Resourceful and independent, capable of managing and executing projects across teams.
• Extensive experience in designing, building, and maintaining production software systems.
• In-depth knowledge of AI systems, backend or distributed systems, infrastructure, and cloud architecture.
• Practical understanding of foundation models, inference, retrieval, orchestration, evaluation, latency, and cost considerations.
• Strong proficiency in full-stack development.
• Familiarity with Python, Go, TypeScript, Kubernetes, and major cloud platforms.
