Lead AI-Native Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Lead the architecture, design, and execution of contemporary software solutions for clients, acting as the senior technical authority on consulting projects.

• Utilize agentic AI tools (such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar) as the primary workflow for development, assigning implementation, testing, and refactoring tasks to agents while upholding stringent quality standards.

• Create codebases that are agent-friendly, incorporating clear conventions, robust automated testing coverage, and documentation to facilitate effective AI tooling.

• Implement review and verification processes for AI-generated code to ensure correctness, security, and maintainability in all team deliverables.

• Develop and sustain prompts, custom agents, and CI/CD integrations to automate routine engineering tasks across client projects.

• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, articulating complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, managing expectations realistically, and fostering enduring relationships.

• Engage in active and empathetic listening to client requirements, posing insightful questions and converting business objectives into actionable technical roadmaps.

• Guide and mentor engineers in AI-native development practices, enhancing the speed and quality of every team you collaborate with.

• Collaborate with sales and leadership on pre-sales initiatives, including technical discovery, solution design, and estimation.

• Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team culture by providing and receiving constructive feedback, navigating disagreements respectfully, and collectively owning challenges.

• Assess emerging AI development tools and methodologies, deciding which ones merit inclusion in the tech stack.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including experience leading technical teams or serving in a technical lead capacity.

• Hands-on, production experience with agentic AI coding tools (such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor) to enhance software delivery beyond mere autocomplete assistance.

• Previous consulting or customer service experience with a proven record of success in direct engagement with external clients or customers.

• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language and ecosystem (such as TypeScript/Node, Python, C#/.NET, or Java) and experience delivering on at least one major cloud platform (AWS or Azure).

• Solid foundation in software engineering principles, including architecture, automated testing, CI/CD, and code review, along with the discernment to know when to trust agent outputs and when to scrutinize them closely.

• Outstanding communication abilities, including the skill to convey technical trade-offs to non-technical audiences, facilitate meetings, present confidently, and write clearly.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, encompassing empathy, active listening, patience, and professionalism in high-pressure situations.

• Flexibility and curiosity, with a demonstrated trend of rapidly learning evolving tools and assisting others in doing the same.
