This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• In the capacity of a Lead AI Engineer, you will serve as a pivotal individual contributor responsible for the design and delivery of production-ready AI-driven applications for the Brilliant Harvest platform.
• By merging profound technical knowledge with leadership abilities, you will mentor colleagues, influence architectural choices, and guarantee the delivery of scalable, high-quality software solutions.
• Collaborating closely with the VP of AI Engineering and the AI Architect, you will assist in shaping the technical trajectory of our AI stack — encompassing RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, document ingestion, and model integration.
• This position is perfect for an individual who excels in a dynamic environment, enjoys tackling intricate challenges, and is enthusiastic about translating ideas from conceptualization to deployment in a sector where AI is revolutionizing a traditional industry.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering or data science, including at least 2 years concentrated on AI/ML systems in production.
• A proven history of deploying generative AI, LLMs, RAG architectures, or document ingestion pipelines with data enrichment in a live production environment.
• Strong expertise in Python along with proficiency in at least one of the following: TypeScript, C# (.NET), or a contemporary backend language.
• Experience with React, React Native, or modern frontend frameworks and their integration with AI-powered backends.
• A solid grasp of microservices architecture, API design, and cloud infrastructure.
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and sway technical direction without formal authority.
• Experience in a startup setting is considered a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with agentic workflows, prompt engineering best practices, and AI-first development tools (e.g., Claude Code or similar) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of the agriculture, heavy equipment, or dealership sectors is regarded as a strong asset.
