This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
• AI is a key component of 360Learning's strategy: our AI Squad develops agentic features that assist users in discovering, creating, and managing content.
• Establish a comprehensive understanding of our codebase and architecture (Pydantic AI, FastAPI, Azure OpenAI, ElasticSearch).
• Make significant contributions to existing features through hands-on work.
• Mentor and coach our team of AI Engineers (currently 2, with plans for growth).
• Take ownership of the complete delivery of a new AI feature, from technical design to production launch.
• Optimize for real-world limitations: minimize per-request costs, enhance latency, and scale to accommodate usage surges.
• Define the technical direction for AI features in alignment with the PM’s product vision.
• Foster technical innovation within the squad and throughout R&D (e.g., hackathons, cross-functional initiatives) while maintaining approximately 80% hands-on involvement and around 20% focused on coaching and management.
• Over 4 years of experience in developing GenAI / LLM-powered systems, with a proven record of transitioning them from prototype to long-term production deployment.
• Experience, either formal or informal, as a tech lead, mentor, or coach for an engineering team, preferably within a SaaS platform.
• Strong background in Python, showcasing a history of producing clean and maintainable production code.
• Practical experience in integrating LLMs (Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, etc.) and managing real-world challenges such as token costs, latency, reliability, and hallucinations.
• Familiarity with search technologies, RAG, semantic search, vector databases, agents, and LLM observability tools (Langfuse or similar); model evaluation.
• Solid understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals, including evaluation, experimentation, and model lifecycle.
• Experience in leading technical initiatives where performance, reliability, and accuracy are critical.
• A product-focused mindset with genuine concern for customers and their experiences.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.
• Proficient in English (US/UK) / B2 level or equivalent (FR).
