Lead AI Engineer – AI Systems, Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design and development of AI systems that enhance insurance workflow automation.

• Create architecture for AI orchestration layers that integrate LLMs, backend services, and business workflows.

• Take ownership of the complete AI system design, encompassing inference pipelines, routing, caching, and fallback strategies.

• Influence engineering choices regarding latency, reliability, cost, and scalability of AI services.

• Lead the deployment of observability systems, including logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.

• Evaluate and guide backend AI implementations across various engineering teams.

• Work collaboratively with product, backend, DevOps, and operations teams to deliver comprehensive AI features.

• Troubleshoot intricate production issues across distributed AI systems and spearhead root-cause analysis.

• Establish engineering standards and best practices for the development of AI systems.

• Mentor engineers and enhance the quality of technical execution across teams.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive backend or AI engineering experience in production settings.

• Proven experience in building or scaling AI systems, including LLMs, embeddings, recommendation systems, or automation workflows.

• Strong system design capabilities with experience in distributed systems.

• Familiarity with production inference pipelines and AI orchestration.

• Excellent debugging skills in high-scale, latency-sensitive environments.

• Experience with observability, monitoring, and incident response practices.

• Demonstrated ability to lead technical execution within cross-functional teams.

• Strong sense of ownership and capability to drive projects from inception to completion.

• Adaptable to working in fast-paced, globally distributed teams.
