Lead Actuary – Pharmacy Pricing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a subject matter expert in pharmacy pricing and rebate guarantees, collaborating with Underwriting, Clinical, Trade, Legal, Sales, and senior leadership.

• Lead the creation, assessment, and presentation of intricate pricing analyses, projections, and actuarial models.

• Take ownership of and execute ad hoc pharmacy data analyses to assess rebate performance, market events, and actual versus expected outcomes.

• Provide strategic pricing advice on formulary methodologies and rebate structures, leveraging market research and financial modeling.

• Present analyses and recommendations to senior stakeholders and clients, confidently addressing detailed and challenging questions.

• Lead impactful, cross-functional workstreams that necessitate strong judgment, prioritization, and accountability.

• Mentor and support Analysts and junior Actuaries through technical guidance and continuous feedback.

• Keep track of health policy, regulatory, and market changes while evaluating their implications for pricing strategies.

• Ensure adherence to relevant federal regulations and actuarial standards.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Economics, or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; a high school diploma or GED is mandatory.

• A minimum of 8 years of actuarial experience, with at least 6 years in a healthcare organization or Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM).

• Possession of an actuarial designation (ASA or FSA).

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without the necessity for a work visa or residency sponsorship.

• Advanced skills in Excel; familiarity with SAS, SQL, VBA, or similar tools is preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of navigating ambiguity.

• Proficiency in managing multiple complex priorities and delivering results within tight deadlines.

• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong client-facing and executive presentation abilities.
