
Lab Analyst I – Volatiles

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Independently conduct preparation and analysis of samples in accordance with SGS’ analytical standard operating procedures (SOPs) utilizing department-specific instrumentation and analytical techniques.
• Execute routine operations, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment.
• May provide assistance with validation processes and method detection limit (MDL) studies.
• Support investigations and aid in drafting responses to client inquiries and corrective action requests (CARs).
• Input and maintain essential technical information as required to facilitate laboratory operations.
• Keep a Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Comply with internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Associate Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field with 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories, or 2 years of relevant experience (e.g., Sample Preparation) (Required).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a similar scientific discipline with 1-2 years of relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories (Preferred).
• Strong proficiency in English language skills (Required).
• Fundamental mathematical and reasoning abilities (Required).
• Basic computer proficiency (Required).
• Capability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull items weighing up to 25 lbs on a frequent basis (Required).
