This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and manage secure and resilient Kubernetes platforms.
• Automate the configuration of infrastructure and platforms through Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Enhance and optimize GitOps and CI/CD workflows.
• Implement networking, RBAC, security measures, and service-to-service communication within Kubernetes.
• Engineer and provide support for Istio/service-mesh functionalities.
• Create reusable platform components such as Helm charts, Operators, Controllers, CRDs, and Admission Controllers.
• Connect Kubernetes with cloud services, container registries, and delivery pipelines.
• Diagnose and resolve intricate issues across Kubernetes, Linux, networking, containers, and cloud infrastructure.
• Enhance platform reliability, security, performance, and recovery measures.
• Collaborate with application, cloud, security, and architecture teams to translate requirements into functional platform capabilities.
• Senior engineers may influence significant technical decisions, spearhead implementation projects, and mentor other engineers while remaining hands-on.
• Practical experience in building, operating, or supporting Kubernetes environments.
• Strong understanding of Linux, networking, containers, and Kubernetes architecture.
• Expertise in Helm and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS/EKS, Azure/AKS, GCP/GKE, OCI, or similar services.
• Real-world experience with GitOps, CI/CD, and automated deployment processes.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes security, access controls, and RBAC protocols.
• Capacity to independently identify and resolve issues across various platform layers.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Mid-level: Approximately 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Senior-level: Typically 5–7+ years with broader platform ownership, architecture, or technical leadership responsibilities.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) is a value-added qualification.
• Experience with Istio or service mesh, custom Kubernetes Operators/Controllers/CRDs/Admission Controllers, DoD Enterprise DevSecOps Reference Design, software development/scripting/platform automation, production platforms with active end users, or DoD/federal/regulated/security-focused engineering environments would be advantageous.
