Korean Linguist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Convert and adapt content from English to Korean across various formats, including marketing collateral, product information, websites, training documents, and business correspondence.

• Assess, revise, and edit translated materials to guarantee linguistic precision, uniformity, and compliance with client-specific terminology and stylistic guidelines.

• Execute linguistic quality assurance (LQA) and offer constructive feedback to enhance the quality and consistency of translations.

• Conduct terminology research while maintaining glossaries, style guides, and translation memories.

• Collaborate with project managers, localization teams, and subject matter experts to address linguistic inquiries and ensure successful project execution.

• Tailor content to accurately reflect cultural and regional subtleties for Korean-speaking audiences.

• Ensure that all outputs comply with established quality standards and adhere to project timelines.

• Engage in linguistic testing and validation of localized materials when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in Korean, complemented by strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient in English at a professional level.

• A bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Korean Language, Communications, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in translating and localizing content from English to Korean.

• Profound understanding of Korean grammar, spelling, stylistic conventions, and cultural subtleties.

• Familiarity with CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools such as Trados, MemoQ, Phrase, Smartling, or similar technologies is a plus.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
