Korean Linguist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Translate and adapt content from English to Korean across diverse content types, including marketing materials, product descriptions, websites, training documents, and business communications.

• Review, edit, and proofread translated materials to guarantee linguistic precision, consistency, and compliance with client-specific terminology and style guides.

• Conduct linguistic quality assurance (LQA) and offer feedback to enhance translation quality and uniformity.

• Engage in terminology research and maintain glossaries, style guides, and translation memories.

• Collaborate with project managers, localization teams, and subject matter experts to address linguistic inquiries and ensure successful project outcomes.

• Modify content to reflect cultural and regional subtleties for Korean-speaking audiences.

• Ensure all deliverables comply with established quality standards and project timelines.

• Participate in linguistic testing and validation of localized content as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Korean with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

• Professional proficiency in English.

• A bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Korean Language, Communications, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Experience in translating and localizing content from English to Korean.

• Strong grasp of Korean grammar, spelling, style, and cultural subtleties.

• Familiarity with CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools such as Trados, MemoQ, Phrase, Smartling, or similar platforms is preferred.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.

• Ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in one or more specialized fields such as technology, legal, healthcare, life sciences, marketing, e-commerce, or AI is preferred.
