Kirundi to French OPI/VRI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Burundi.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Understand the specific vocabulary pertinent to the healthcare and medical sectors.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited French Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Demonstrate enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Follow the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (French) and a native speaker of the target language (Kirundi).

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare field are beneficial (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
