Kinyarwanda-to-French OPI/VRI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rwanda.

📋 Description

• Professionally respond to calls while adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Be ready to take notes during calls.

• Have a strong understanding of industry-specific terminology, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Ensure that all messages are conveyed accurately and in their entirety.

• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the interpretation process.

• Facilitate effective communication between individuals with limited proficiency in French and clients by delivering precise and complete message interpretations.

• Uphold professional standards of practice.

• Engage in ongoing internal professional training sessions.

• Demonstrate a commitment to pursuing new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication with and provide reports to your team leader.

• Adhere to the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (French) with native-level fluency in the target language (Kinyarwanda).

• A minimum of 1 year of over-the-telephone interpretation experience with a recognized interpreting company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.

• International healthcare certifications are beneficial (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, active listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
