Junior/Mid AI Legal Specialist

📋 Description

• Responsible for ensuring compliance with global regulations related to AI and e-commerce platforms.

• Manage contracts and assessments required by data protection legislation, including GDPR (Data Processing Agreements, Transfer Impact Assessments, etc.).

• Prepare and maintain essential compliance documentation, such as:

• Internal records concerning data protection, AI governance, consumer rights, and related laws.

• Inventory of EverAI’s AI systems (aligned with EU directives).

• Conduct risk assessments in accordance with relevant safety regulations.

• Review products and features (e.g., to ensure compliance with consumer rights and data protection standards).

• Oversee daily compliance responsibilities:

• Address standard intellectual property issues (e.g., DMCA notices, copycat concerns).

• Conduct reviews of contracts (NDAs, licenses).

• Update legal terms (including Terms of Service, Privacy Notices, and content policies).

• Monitor, research, and analyze significant legal developments (e.g., the impact of new laws or regulatory guidance on EverAI).

⛳️ Requirements

• Formal legal education (e.g., Master's in Law, Juris Doctor, or an equivalent recognized legal qualification).

• 2-6 years of experience in legal counsel or related roles:

• A minimum of 2 years must involve working with contracts generally, and specifically with data protection law. For instance:

• Familiarity with Data Protection Agreements and Transfer Impact Assessments, including some experience in preparing them.

• Experience in liaising with vendors regarding contract-related matters.

• Ability to simplify complex legal concepts into accessible language.

• A genuine interest in AI.
