Junior Software Engineer – Production Support, Modernization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the maintenance, enhancement, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of the PRS Web application.

• Create and manage application components, scripts, APIs, automation solutions, and data processing workflows.

• Engage in requirements analysis, technical design, code reviews, testing, and implementation tasks.

• Diagnose software defects, system issues, and user-reported problems while aiding in resolution efforts.

• Generate and update technical documentation, user manuals, and support materials.

• Aid in the analysis and assessment of modernization opportunities for legacy applications, analytical workflows, and reporting frameworks.

• Support migration planning, proof-of-concept development, and execution of modernization initiatives under the mentorship of senior engineers and architects.

• Collaborate with software developers, data engineers, analysts, and program stakeholders to enhance surveillance, reporting, and public health operations.

• Adhere to established software engineering, security, DevSecOps, and quality assurance standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field with 1–3 years of software development experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft .NET technologies, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or comparable web development technologies.

• Knowledge of relational databases and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Experience in supporting web applications, troubleshooting problems, and executing enhancements.

• Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and version control systems.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Proven eagerness and capability to learn new technologies and development frameworks.

• Capacity to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
