Junior Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• You will develop and enhance well-defined features within the Lingokids app, utilizing React Native and TypeScript for both iOS and Android platforms.

• You will produce clean and readable code, further improving it through collaborative code reviews with your colleagues, actively giving and receiving feedback as part of your professional growth.

• You will seek assistance whenever necessary. Asking questions, sharing your learning process, and navigating challenging moments are integral to your development here.

• You will regard design, product quality, and overall user experience as a shared responsibility, collaborating closely with the entire team to ensure a seamless experience for both children and parents.

• You will leverage AI tools as we all do, to accelerate your learning and minimize repetitive tasks, while always making informed decisions.

• You won’t be required to have all the answers from day one. No one does, and that’s perfectly acceptable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in software development alongside others, whether through professional roles, education, boot camps, internships, or personal projects.

• Strong programming fundamentals: the ability to write clear code, comprehend others' code, and understand the basics of testing and version control (Git).

• Basic knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and a genuine interest in learning React Native and mobile development.

• A growth mindset: you enjoy acquiring new knowledge, asking questions, and viewing feedback as a valuable resource.

• A sense of empathy towards the users of your creations. As we develop products for children and families, understanding their needs is crucial.

• Effective communication skills: you can articulate your ideas and request assistance in a straightforward manner.

• Preferred, but not mandatory:

• Any mobile development experience (React Native, native iOS, or Android).

• Any experience with React.

• Any familiarity with feature flags, analytics, or A/B testing.

• Understanding of how applications interact with APIs.
