Junior Inventory Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee and reconcile inventory records for environmental commodities (such as carbon credits, RECs, and similar instruments) across various registries and platforms.

• Accurately and promptly process inventory transactions, including acquisitions, retirements, and transfers.

• Support month-end and quarter-end closing activities, which involve reconciling the inventory subledger with the general ledger.

• Prepare journal entries along with supporting documentation in compliance with GAAP.

• Assist in fulfilling internal and external audit requests related to inventory management.

• Identify and report discrepancies, collaborating with Operations and commercial teams to resolve issues.

• Contribute to the development and enhancement of inventory tracking procedures and controls.

• Create inventory reports and summaries for Finance leadership as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• 0–2 years of experience in accounting or finance; internship experience is encouraged.

• Basic understanding of GAAP accounting principles.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP or accounting systems is an advantage.

• Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and interest in sustainability, carbon markets, or environmental finance.

• Exposure to environmental commodities, carbon registries (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard, APX), or financial services is a plus.

• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is advantageous.

• CPA candidates or those intending to pursue CPA licensure are preferred.
