Area Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Gathers and evaluates financial data to create journal entries and document business transactions.

• Generates monthly and quarterly operational performance reports.

• Supports the Area Controller in ensuring the implementation of proper internal controls, including adherence to company policies and procedures, Sarbanes-Oxley, and all other regulatory requirements.

• Reconciles balance sheet accounts and statistical data while thoroughly analyzing financial statements in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.

• Assists the Area Controller in overseeing accounting personnel and may provide guidance across various accounting functions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in accounting.

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Proficient in MS Excel at an intermediate level.

• Ability to take initiative in thoroughly researching and following up on non-standard situations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Strong and professional interpersonal communication skills across all organizational levels and with external customers and vendors.

• Excellent analytical abilities.

• Capability to effectively juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Competence in completing projects and assignments with minimal oversight.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team setting.

• Familiarity with general ledger software and other industry-standard programs.

• Experience with Oracle accounting software and other commonly used programs in the industry.
