Junior HSE Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Assist in the implementation and ongoing enhancement of HSE management systems.

• Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, standards, and internal policies.

• Perform regular workplace inspections and audits, identify hazards, and initiate measures for risk reduction.

• Record HSE-related activities and compile reports.

• Create and present briefings, training sessions, and workshops on occupational safety, fire protection, first aid, and environmental protection.

• Provide guidance to managers and employees on HSE issues and foster a positive HSE culture.

• Conduct thorough investigations of occupational accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents.

• Prepare risk assessments, operational instructions, and emergency response plans.

• Contribute to HSE projects, sustainability initiatives, and process enhancements.

• Collaborate with Facility Management, HR, Technical Services, employers’ liability insurance associations, authorities, and external experts.

• Maintain a professional HSE network and keep abreast of current developments in the HSE field.

⛳️ Requirements

• A completed vocational training or degree in a technical, occupational safety, or scientific discipline, along with the necessary qualification as an occupational safety specialist (Sifa) per DGUV Regulation 2, is essential.

• Initial experience in HSE management is beneficial; entry-level candidates with a Sifa qualification are encouraged to apply.

• Strong knowledge of relevant legal requirements, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health, the Hazardous Substances Ordinance, and DGUV regulations.

• Familiarity with common standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

• Possess analytical thinking skills, a structured work approach, and a strong sense of responsibility.

• Exceptional communication and persuasive abilities.

• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with HSE software or documentation systems is preferred.

• Proficient in the German language is necessary.

• Good command of the English language is advantageous.
