Junior Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accountable for facilitating automation initiatives with an emphasis on diagnosing issues and deploying solutions to enhance DevSecOps practices.

• Create tools and processes aimed at advancing DevSecOps maturity by automating builds, conducting regression testing, monitoring, and deploying releases across various environments.

• Safeguard the access, storage, transmission, and processing of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Covered Defense Information (CDI), and Federal Contract Information (FCI).

⛳️ Requirements

• SECRET Clearance

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED

• CompTIA Security + clearance

• DOD 8570/8140 certified (IAT Level II)

• Experience in supporting DoD or governmental organizations

• Proficient in troubleshooting, triaging, or resolving automation challenges using Ansible or PowerShell

• Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, version control systems like Git, operating systems including RHEL and Windows, and virtualization technologies like VMware

• Understanding of Agile development methodologies

• Capability to create tools and processes that enhance DevSecOps maturity through automation of builds, regression testing, monitoring, and release deployment across environments

• Must be a citizen of the United States of America

• Willingness to travel quarterly to Scott AFB for trips lasting up to 3 days

• Relevant certifications preferred, such as Azure DevOps Certified

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline

• Experience in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and efficient CI/CD pipelines

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC)

• Experience in application containerization

• Skilled in modeling network configurations using JSON and YAML

• Experience with network automation utilizing Python and Ansible

• Knowledge of networking principles and concepts

• Understanding of API design and object-oriented principles.
