This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications.
• Review and process employee expense reports in accordance with company policies.
• Conduct account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
• Utilize accounting systems and reporting tools to process transactions and generate reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, resolve issues, and support business objectives.
• Assist with inventory costing activities for raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods.
• Analyze inventory costs using weighted average costing methodologies.
• Monitor and investigate inventory cost variances and identify root causes.
• Prepare inventory-related reports and analyses to support management decision-making.
• Work with purchasing, operations, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation.
• Identify opportunities to enhance inventory costing processes, controls, and reporting accuracy.
• Support month-end and year-end closures by preparing timelines, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Conduct detailed reconciliations of the general ledger accounts and resolve variances.
• Analyze actual financial results against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
• Prepare financial reports and reporting packages for management review.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Prepare audit timelines and provide support during internal and external audits.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analyses, reporting, and special projects as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of preferred experience in accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
• Knowledge of inventory costing methodologies, including weighted average costing.
• Pursuing a professional accounting designation (CPA) is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
