Japanese Translator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Translate, proofread, and edit in-game content from English to Japanese.

• Integrate the translated text into the game and carry out LQA, including bug reports, language error reports, and providing suggestions for improvements.

• Translate and localize marketing materials, such as commercial videos and social media content.

• Translate additional documents related to internal projects.

• Provide interpretation (EN-JA) for weekly online meetings with Japanese clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• JLPT N1 or equivalent native-level proficiency in Japanese is essential.

• Proficiency in English at a business level or higher (TOEIC score of 800 or above is preferred).

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience as an English-Japanese translator and/or proofreader across any industry.

• Preferred experience in game development or operations, particularly in LQA.

• At least 2 years of experience as an English-Japanese translator/interpreter in the video game or entertainment sectors.

• Comprehensive knowledge of LQA-related software and tools.

• Familiarity with UI/UX localization practices.

• Experience with CAT tools such as Trados, MemoQ, Memsource, etc.

• Previous work experience in Japan or with Japanese companies is advantageous.

• Proficiency in writing and reading in additional languages is a plus.
