Japanese Language Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Perform linguistic evaluations of translated materials – both within the translation platform and on actual Clover devices and websites – to guarantee consistency in terminology, linguistic precision, cultural appropriateness, and a natural flow across localized offerings.

• Proficient in Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) to assess and enhance MT outputs for accuracy, consistency, and natural flow.

• Create and uphold linguistic guidelines to maintain the highest quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant experience.

• Advanced degree or certification in Translation, Interpretation, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience as a linguist or translation expert, specifically focusing on Japanese – Native Japanese speaker is mandatory.

• Preference for familiarity or prior experience in the areas of payments, banking, finance, POS systems, and merchant applications.

• Strong grasp of software localization.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.

• Proficient understanding of translation platforms and language technology tools.

• Familiarity with Mac, Google Suite, JIRA, Adobe Acrobat, and other localization resources (e.g., TMS – Smartling, Atom text editor, screenshot annotation).
