IT Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Responsible for delivering IT support throughout the organization, serving as the initial point of contact for all IT-related inquiries, issues, and requests.

• Manage and uphold Microsoft 365, Entra, and Intune for a fully remote team, encompassing identity, access, device management, and compliance.

• Oversee our SaaS application portfolio, including user management, licensing, and security.

• Implement user lifecycle processes, which include onboarding and offboarding procedures.

• Integrate responsible AI as a fundamental aspect of your work—leveraging AI to enhance workflows, minimize repetitive tasks, and deliver results more efficiently.

• Propose and share ideas on how AI can be utilized within the team and the broader organization to address challenges.

• Assist in the execution and management of IT security controls, policies, and compliance efforts.

• Keep accurate records of devices, software licenses, and compliance activities.

• Contribute to the creation of scripts, automations, and integrations to lessen manual tasks and boost efficiency.

• Actively seek out issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement—escalating them to the team and, when necessary, leading the resolution process.

• Maintain thorough documentation across all systems, processes, and configurations to ensure knowledge sharing.

• Collaborate with third-party vendors and suppliers to manage relationships, support escalations, and handle procurement activities.

• Engage in IT projects and broader initiatives, taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through to completion.

• Represent the IT department positively within the organization, fostering strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in administering Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.

• Preferable experience with Copilot, Microsoft Defender, and Purview.

• Proficiency in administering Entra ID and Intune.

• Experience in configuring, securing, and supporting Windows systems.

• Ability to support end users at an L2+ level across various hardware and software issues, with familiarity in service management tools such as Freshservice.

• Experience supporting a hybrid or fully remote user base.

• Skills in administering and supporting SaaS applications, including access control, configuration, licensing, and security.

• A solid understanding of IT security principles and compliance—possessing a ‘security first’ mindset and the discipline to apply controls consistently.

• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload effectively.

• Exposure to scripting in PowerShell and/or Python—foundational experience welcomed with a desire to develop further.

• Experience in an IT environment subject to ISO27001 and/or Cyber Essentials Plus standards.

• Relevant professional and/or technical memberships or certifications, or actively pursuing them.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

• Experience in a professional services or consultancy environment.
