IT Support Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Deliver 1st and 2nd line IT support for users and systems.

• Manage and provide support for Windows 10/11 environments.

• Assist with Windows Server 2008/2012 systems and associated services.

• Oversee Active Directory user accounts, groups, and permissions.

• Provide support for Microsoft Exchange (2010/2013) environments.

• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity and LAN issues.

• Offer hardware support for desktops, laptops, and peripherals.

• Assist with printer installations, configurations, and troubleshooting.

• Execute system backups and perform basic storage support tasks.

• Support VMware or equivalent virtualization environments.

• Aid in basic database maintenance (preferably with Oracle exposure).

• Ensure adherence to IT security policies and procedures.

• Maintain and enhance IT documentation and technical records.

• Assist with system roll-outs, upgrades, and device deployments.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure prompt issue resolution.

• Adhere to ITIL-based processes for incident and change management.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in IT Support or Infrastructure Support roles.

• Extensive experience with Windows 10/11 support.

• Practical experience with Windows Server (2008/2012 or later).

• Strong background in Active Directory administration.

• Experience in supporting Microsoft Exchange environments.

• Basic experience with VMware or virtualization technologies.

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN).

• Familiarity with supporting desktop hardware and peripherals.

• Experience with IT ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow or similar).

• Exposure to backup systems and basic storage support is required.

• Advantageous to have Oracle database exposure.

• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Capability to work remotely and independently within a support team.

• Experience in enterprise or regulated environments is a plus.

• Background in pharmaceutical or manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
