IT Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead project initiations and create detailed project workplans.

• Convert approved scopes of work into implementable project plans.

• Set up schedules, milestones, maintenance periods, and dependencies.

• Collaborate with engineering, low-voltage, telecom, vendor, client, and additional resources.

• Verify hardware, software, access, credentials, site requirements, and other essential prerequisites.

• Establish a communication strategy and status-reporting schedule for the project.

• Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the project.

• Oversee coordination of engineers and field technicians during the implementation phase.

• Arrange site visits, installations, cutovers, testing, and validation processes.

• Inform stakeholders about upcoming work, expected downtimes, and necessary actions.

• Monitor progress against timelines and labor budgets.

• Uphold the approved project scope and deliverables.

• Identify, document, and secure approval for changes outside the approved scope.

• Prevent scope creep while fostering positive client relationships.

• Maintain risk and dependency registers and coordinate plans for mitigation.

• Ensure that prerequisites, technical resources, equipment, access, and rollback strategies are prepared for cutovers.

• Manage client communications prior to outages.

• Oversee implementation, validation, issue resolution, and acceptance criteria.

• Keep project and technical documentation and configuration records up to date.

• Facilitate final validation, client acceptance, project deliverables, closing reports, and transitions to support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional background in managing IT, infrastructure, telecommunications, Microsoft 365, or technology projects.

• Strong abilities in project organization and time management.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in coordinating technical personnel and third-party vendors.

• Proven capability in managing project schedules, dependencies, risks, and scope.

• Exceptional attention to detail and documentation practices.

• Proficient in communicating effectively with technical engineers and business stakeholders.

• Ability to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities.

• Strong understanding of change control and project acceptance procedures.

• Preferred experience in managing network infrastructure projects.

• Familiarity with UniFi and enterprise networking concepts is a plus.

• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 migrations and Microsoft Entra is preferred.

• Experience in managing structured cabling, telecom, or low-voltage projects is advantageous.

• Previous experience with infrastructure cutovers and scheduled outages is preferred.

• Experience in an MSP, technology integrator, IT services provider, or similar setting is desirable.

• Project management certification such as PMP, CAPM, or equivalent experience is preferred.
