
IT Asset Management Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Evaluate IT Asset Management (ITAM) data related to hardware and software assets, inventory accuracy, software license compliance, asset utilization, refresh cycles, lifecycle costs, and data quality.
• Create dashboards, reports, visualizations, and recurring data products to facilitate program performance monitoring and assist leadership in decision-making.
• Gather, clean, validate, reconcile, and interpret data from ITAM tools, Configuration Management Databases (CMDBs), ServiceNow reporting, asset repositories, spreadsheets, and other program data sources.
• Detect trends, gaps, anomalies, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement within ITAM datasets and reporting processes.
• Assist in developing and tracking ITAM performance metrics, key performance indicators, compliance measures, and operational reporting requirements.
• Produce clear summaries, charts, tables, data narratives, and briefing materials that effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to strategic planning, process optimization, governance, compliance, and audit readiness initiatives through quantitative analysis and data-driven insights.
• Support data calls, ad hoc analyses, inquiries, and leadership requests related to ITAM performance, asset visibility, software compliance, or operational readiness.
• Collaborate with program managers, analysts, subject matter experts, and government stakeholders to define data requirements, validate assumptions, and enhance reporting outputs.
• Organize data files, reporting documentation, assumptions, methodologies, and quality control procedures to ensure repeatable analysis and traceability.
• Suggest enhancements for ITAM reporting, data governance, dashboard design, and data quality management.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience is necessary.
• Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, dashboard development, or performance measurement for IT, operations, business, or management consulting programs.
• Competence in collecting, cleaning, validating, reconciling, and analyzing structured data from diverse sources.
• Experience in developing reports, dashboards, data visualizations, charts, tables, and written summaries for clients or leadership audiences.
• Strong analytical skills with the capability to identify trends, issues, outliers, data quality concerns, and actionable insights.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
• Familiarity with SQL, Tableau, Python or R, ServiceNow reporting, CMDBs, and asset repositories.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• **Preferred Qualifications**
• Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal civilian agency programs.
• Background in IT Asset Management, Hardware Asset Management, Software Asset Management, IT governance, IT service management, enterprise IT operations, or IT modernization programs.
• Experience analyzing ITAM metrics such as asset utilization, inventory accuracy, software license compliance, refresh cycle optimization, lifecycle costs, and data quality.
• Familiarity with audit readiness, compliance reviews, data calls, GAO, OIG, Congressional, or other oversight-related responses.
• Knowledge of ITAM data sources, asset lifecycle processes, CMDB concepts, software license reporting, or hardware inventory reconciliation.
• Experience in developing executive-level dashboards, recurring status reports, performance scorecards, or operational reporting packages.
• Skill in documenting data assumptions, methodologies, quality checks, and reporting procedures.
• Experience working in remote delivery environments with geographically dispersed teams.
