This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +21 more states.
• Oversee the administration and upkeep of the Polaris ILS, which includes system configuration, managing permissions, and creating user accounts across various library organizations.
• Provide support and troubleshoot circulation processes such as loans, holds, renewals, fine management, and notifications, ensuring alignment with the unique policies of each library.
• Coordinate system upgrades, releases, hotfixes, and support cases in collaboration with the vendor.
• Ensure the integrity of the patron database by managing registration workflows and adhering to data standards.
• Handle integrations with third-party services including discovery layers, e-content providers, online payment systems, and SIP2/NCIP/API authentication systems.
• Supervise the integrity of bibliographic and item records and assist with cataloging workflows.
• Aid in the generation of reports to support library operations, collection analysis, and statistical reporting.
• Conduct data clean-up, normalization, and bulk record updates.
• Offer both frontline and escalated support to library staff across all departments.
• Create training materials and lead staff training sessions focused on Polaris workflows.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Proven experience in administering an ILS within a public library environment (Polaris ILS preferred, but candidates with experience in similar platforms are welcome to apply).
• Strong focus on customer service with a comprehensive understanding of circulation, patron services, cataloging, and acquisitions workflows.
• Familiarity with MARC records and standards of library metadata.
• Experience with SIP2, APIs, and system integrations.
• Basic understanding of Windows Server environments and fundamental networking concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical library personnel.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and effectively follow through on tasks.
