IS Data Warehouse Architect, II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Execute intermediate-level data warehouse architecture.

• Develop data models for moderate to advanced topics.

• Formulate ETL specifications to fulfill business data requirements.

• Create and sustain design and operational documentation.

• Evaluate data sources and suggest solutions, encompassing risks and mitigation strategies.

• Engage in long-term planning for data warehouse and dashboard architecture.

• Design and oversee data warehouse and analytics architectures for solution development.

• Recommend requirements, standards, and best practices for data modeling, ETL specifications, and data warehouse development.

• Assess existing systems for adherence to established standards to enhance business operations.

• Conduct research on products and vendors, presenting findings to database developers and/or management.

• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and equipment suppliers, including installation and service repair.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in data design/data architecture and/or a minimum of 2 years in data warehouse architecture.

• Experience in dimensional modeling.

• Proficiency in data quality assessment.

• Strong command of SQL.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Experience in source-target mapping.

• Skills in data analysis.

• Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server.

• Knowledge of cloud data warehousing tools such as Snowflake or Redshift.

• Familiarity with ETL tools like SSIS or Azure Data Factory.

• Advanced skills in troubleshooting system performance issues and identifying root causes.

• Knowledge of unit and integration testing.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with effective customer service abilities.

• Capability to clearly articulate policies and instructions.

• Ability to convey appropriate levels of detail to both technical and non-technical personnel.

• Competence in recommending policies, documenting risks, and proposing solutions to IT management and senior leadership.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

• Capacity to learn, assess information, and determine suitable actions.

• Capability to perform repetitive finger and wrist movements for at least 6 hours per day.

• Ability to hear and speak clearly for a duration of 3–6 hours per day.
