This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Analyze and reconcile intricate investment accounting transactions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Prepare and examine NAIC statutory schedules and regulatory submissions, including RTS, SCA Sub 2, Bank Loan Filings, and Privately Rated Security Filings.
• Review securities that are rated internally.
• Conduct quality assurance checks and audits on investment accounting transactions.
• Manage and oversee relationships with third-party vendors and managed service providers.
• Develop sophisticated control processes that support internal controls, SOX compliance, and accounting policies.
• Identify trends, issues, and concerns in investment accounting and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with enterprise stakeholders to ensure investment accounting processes are completed accurately and on time.
• Stay updated on developments and integrate new practices into solutions.
• Prepare technical financial documents, presentations, and communications.
• Create earnings memos and analyze general account team metrics.
• Compile financial footnote information for SEC, GAAP, and statutory reporting.
• Provide accounting information on fixed income investments to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Apply investment accounting treatment to General Account Invested Assets according to Statutory, GAAP, Management, and Tax bases.
• Conduct technical research on general account investments.
• Address discrepancies and inquiries from portfolio management and asset managers.
• Assist with industry and governmental surveys.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in investment accounting directly related to the responsibilities of this role.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Familiarity with NAIC statutory reporting and understanding of regulatory requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capacity to adapt swiftly in a dynamic work environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel functions and visualization tools.
