Investigator Payments Lead – Senior Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of clinical site payment management, which includes activity schedules, costs per subject, payment triggers, database creation, startup payments, EDC-driven visit payments, and items eligible for invoicing.

• Direct the planning of payment activities and ensure proper configuration of systems.

• Evaluate EDC design and data collection methods to ensure accurate alignment with budget structures and timely payment triggers.

• Address payment failures and lead resolution initiatives.

• Review and provide guidance on the configuration of site contracts and budgets within payment systems.

• Supervise vendors' compliance with investigator payment protocols and standards.

• Manage intricate technology and process challenges related to site relationships, budgets, contracts, regulations, languages, taxes, and currencies.

• Analyze study payment performance, identify underlying issues, and implement corrective measures.

• Ensure that purchase orders are active and sufficient funding is available for authorized payments.

• Assist in study-specific investigator payment audits.

• Resolve escalations related to site and study-level payments.

• Ensure that contracts, work orders, and funding facilitate site payment processes.

• Collaborate with both internal stakeholders and external partners within a Functional Service Provider framework.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

• More than two years of experience in clinical contracts and budget management, accounting, finance, clinical project management, clinical operations, or a related field.

• Familiarity with clinical operations, clinical protocols, and site budgets.

• Proven understanding of clinical site and vendor budgets as well as payment terms.

• Experience in clinical research, clinical operations, finance, accounting, contracts administration, or another regulated environment.

• Strong abilities in project coordination, problem-solving, and stakeholder management.

• Capacity to collaborate across various functional teams, cultures, and locations while managing competing priorities.

• Strong business acumen and meticulous attention to detail concerning site budgets, payment terms, and study-level processes.

• Comfortable working with payment systems, EDC data, contracts, budgets, and process-driven workflows.

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to work effectively across functions with clinical operations, business technology, legal, finance, tax, and other teams.

• Competence to complete assignments, tasks, and projects with minimal supervision and provide informed recommendations regarding investigator payments.

• Ability to work independently in a collaborative, team-oriented setting.

• Preferred: experience with EDC data and systems.

• Preferred: familiarity with industry payment-processing software and business requirements.

• Preferred: experience with a Clinical Research Organization or sponsor.

• Preferred: knowledge of local tax and payment regulations.

• Preferred: experience supporting cross-border financial transactions.
