Interpreter – OPI, VRI, Legal

📋 Description

• Offer Over-the-Phone (both on-demand and pre-scheduled) and Video Remote (pre-scheduled) interpreting services to a range of Prisma clients, including the South Dakota DHS/LTSS offices.

• Convey accurate concepts and meanings between the speaker and the Limited English Proficient (LEP) individual.

• Ensure correct grammar, clarity, and tone in communications between English and your native language.

• Demonstrate experience in following speakers’ directions, professionally interjecting when clarification is necessary, and managing the flow of conversation.

• Avoid engaging in side conversations with the LEP speaker or entering disagreements with the customer or LEP speaker.

• Maintain strict adherence to data security protocols and the protection of personal information.

• Comply with all relevant ethics and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess court-certified (state or federal) credentials - OR - court qualified/registered credentials; you will be required to provide your certificates and proof of training.

• Consent to a criminal history background check.

• Agree to complete necessary training/courses in data security protocols and the protection of personal information.

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing OPI and VRI interpretation in a professional environment.

• Provide two (2) references who can verify your profession as a legal interpreter.

• Minimum age requirement: 18 years or older.

• Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma.

• Location: Must reside in the United States.

• Full fluency in both English and your native language.
