This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
⢠Develop and execute marketing plans for the region and country in Malaysia and the Southeast Asian cluster, overseeing and delivering in-country projects and activities in close collaboration with the UK-based regional team and a Malaysian-based colleague, to support the International Student Recruitment leadership team in establishing a robust base of applications and enrolments for the University.
⢠Responsible for strategizing and overseeing the Universityās recruitment initiatives in Malaysia and the Southeast Asian cluster, managing and delivering in-country projects and activities in partnership with the UK-based regional team and Malaysian colleagues.
⢠Play an essential role in nurturing and expanding relationships with the Universityās key stakeholders in the region, including pivotal schools, colleges, and agents.
⢠Prepare and deliver presentations and workshops to students, agents, and school counselors, representing the University of Southampton at educational exhibitions and in-country events.
⢠Collaborate with the Regional Head of International Recruitment and Partnerships to manage, support, and execute in-country projects and activities.
⢠Cultivate a collaborative team environment that emphasizes teamwork and a growth mindset, leading to increased achievement of our Southeast Asia regional targets and KPIs, while spearheading the strategic planning and execution of student recruitment initiatives.
⢠Contribute to annual market recruitment strategies for assigned markets, working closely with the regional team to provide high-quality market analysis and country-specific updates to inform future planning.
⢠Employ an analysis-driven approach, offering insights on market-related issues to inform engagement activities and adjust planning and forecasting accordingly.
⢠Regularly evaluate recruitment initiatives to generate timely reports based on market intelligence, performance, competitor activities, market threats, and opportunities.
⢠Promote and enhance understanding of the Universityās programs and unique selling points (USPs).
⢠Represent the University on-site, managing engagement with key partners, stakeholders, and alumni, while actively seeking opportunities to develop new strategic relationships within the region.
⢠Establish and sustain long-term relationships with a diverse range of key influencers, such as international schools, colleges, universities, funding bodies (including government ministries and embassies), British Council alumni, educational agents, edtech partners, and partner institutions.
⢠Lead international conversion activities for the University, collaborating closely with the marketing team.
⢠Provide briefing reports to various audiences, encompassing statistical and trend analysis, benchmarking activities, market research, horizon scanning, and competitor analysis.
⢠Consult on and communicate intake targets at the commencement of each admissions cycle, assess performance, suggest improvements, and disseminate best practices.
⢠Contribute towards broader initiatives as a member of the University of Southamptonās Global Recruitment & Admissions department, ensuring a superior applicant and student experience.
⢠Update and maintain internal and external guidelines on the equivalencies of local qualifications while assisting schools and admissions staff in applying this information consistently.
⢠Manage marketing campaigns and contribute to the development of student- or partner-focused materials.
⢠Support recruitment for our International Branch Campuses (Malaysia and Delhi) as applicable.
⢠Have experience in international student recruitment.
⢠Previous experience in contributing to or designing and implementing data-driven regional student recruitment strategies that achieve a sustainable recruitment pipeline.
⢠Strong marketing and communication skills.
⢠Experience in working with agents and schools in the region.
⢠Proven experience in creating and evaluating the effectiveness of in-country social media strategies.
⢠Project management experience.
⢠Bachelorās degree with good to strong academic performance.
⢠A masterās degree is beneficial.
⢠Proficient in IT software, including the Microsoft Office suite, Power BI, and Dynamics.
⢠Excellent oral and written communication abilities, including the capability to present effectively to diverse audiences in an engaging manner.
⢠Advise, organize, and facilitate visits from faculty and university colleagues, ensuring smooth logistics, scheduling, and coordination of in-country activities.
⢠Ability to respond positively and creatively to unforeseen events both domestically and internationally.
⢠Willingness to travel extensively (40% of the time) and on short notice.
