This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Oversee international freight arrangements from factories in China and other manufacturing hubs to distribution centers in primary markets such as the US, Canada, UK, and EU.
• Enhance international supply chain routes and container utilization to reduce cost per unit.
• Coordinate factory loadings at the origin, ensuring all required export and import documentation is accurate and in place.
• Track international transit in real time and proactively address issues such as delays, route modifications, and capacity limitations.
• Collaborate closely with the account manager and other freight providers to grasp network operational efficiency, capacity challenges, and potential threats to shipping timelines before finalizing shipment plans and bookings.
• Act as the main contact for the Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) account manager.
• Spearhead the management and execution of the shipping plan.
• Ensure prompt and complete booking of all AGL shipments.
• Maximize container utilization to minimize shipping costs per unit.
• Oversee and track AGL shipments from China directly into Amazon fulfillment centers and Amazon Upstream/AWD.
• Continuously seek to understand and enhance the processes related to AGL bookings, communication, cost management, and shipment tracking.
• Ensure full compliance with international regulations and customs requirements across all shipping routes.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy in customs documentation to avoid delays or penalties.
• Develop and sustain a knowledge base and process documentation related to international freight and Amazon logistics.
• Accurately and timely maintain critical path shipping milestones on Monday.com.
• Manage and keep updated shipping decision and booking files or dashboards to ensure internal stakeholders are well-informed of shipment details and status.
• Acquire proficiency in SAP ByDesign (ERP system).
• Supervise the accurate input of logistics data into ByDesign.
• Extract and analyze data from ByDesign to facilitate process enhancements.
• Work collaboratively with the supply chain team and manufacturing partners to proactively address and minimize discrepancies.
• Efficiently handle rebookings, consolidations, and other preferred solutions when disruptions occur.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with Amazon Seller Central, preferably in a logistics or operations role.
• At least 2 years of direct experience in making Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) shipment bookings.
• Proven understanding of international freight, customs clearance, and import/export documentation.
• Experience with Monday.com is advantageous; training will be provided if not.
• Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus (experience with SAP ByDesign is beneficial).
