This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• **Key Responsibilities**
• **1. International Freight Management**
• - Oversee international freight bookings from factories in China and other manufacturing sites to distribution centers in key markets including the US, Canada, UK, and EU.
• - Enhance international supply chain routes and container utilization to reduce cost per unit.
• - Organize factory loadings at origin, ensuring all required export and import documentation is accurately prepared.
• - Track international transit in real-time; proactively address issues such as delays, route modifications, and capacity challenges.
• - Collaborate closely with the account manager and other freight service providers to assess network operational efficiency, capacity constraints, and any potential risks to shipping schedules prior to finalizing shipment plans and bookings.
• **2. Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) — China to Amazon FCs**
• - Act as the main point of contact for the Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) account manager.
• - Lead the management and execution of the AFG shipping plan: **- Collaborate with finance and order merchandisers to synchronize the shipping plan timing, ensuring stock reaches key markets on schedule.** **- Guarantee timely and complete bookings for all AGL shipments.** **- Maximize container utilization to lower cost per unit shipped.**
• - Oversee and monitor AGL shipments from China directly to Amazon FCs and Amazon Upstream / AWD.
• - Continually assess and enhance the process for AGL bookings, communications, cost management, and shipment tracking.
• - Manage delivery communications with all relevant internal AFG teams.
• **3. Customs Compliance Documentation**
• - Ensure adherence to international regulations and customs requirements across all shipping channels.
• - Uphold a high standard of accuracy in customs documentation to prevent delays or penalties.
• - Build and sustain AFG's knowledge base and process documentation related to international freight and Amazon logistics.
• **4. Systems, Reporting Data**
• - Keep critical path shipping milestones updated on Monday.com accurately and promptly.
• - Manage and maintain shipping decision and booking files or dashboards to keep internal stakeholders well-informed about shipment details and status.
• - Acquire proficiency in SAP ByDesign (ERP system).
• - Ensure accurate implementation of logistics data entry into ByDesign.
• - Extract and analyze data from ByDesign to foster process enhancements.
• **5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management**
• - Work closely with the AFG supply chain team and manufacturing partners to proactively manage and mitigate discrepancies.
• - Effectively handle rebookings, consolidations, and other preferred solutions when disruptions occur.
• - Continuously advance the AFG knowledge base and process documentation regarding international freight and Amazon global logistics.
• **Technical Experience**
• - A minimum of 3 years of experience with Amazon Seller Central, ideally in a logistics or operations role.
• - At least 2 years of hands-on experience making Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) shipment bookings.
• - Clear understanding of international freight, customs clearance, and import/export documentation.
• - Experience with Monday.com is preferred; training will be provided if necessary.
• - Familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous, with SAP ByDesign experience being a plus.
