This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Provide support to the Data Center of Excellence (Data COE) team in five essential areas: documenting data processes and reporting methodologies, conducting exploratory data analysis beyond standard grant reports, maintaining and cleaning data pipelines and dashboards, capturing qualitative data from member research and surveys, and conducting general research to aid grant strategy and benchmarking.
• Create and enhance clear, plain-language documentation regarding the calculation of metrics, data cleaning processes, and report generation for grant initiatives.
• Develop comprehensive guides for the updating and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and grant reporting workflows.
• Execute exploratory analysis on grant data (such as credential and placement outcomes, wage trends, and training impacts) and prepare summary findings for the team.
• Aid in data quality assessments, including identifying duplicates, missing values, and inconsistencies within datasets.
• Assist with data pipeline activities such as validating outputs, documenting coding logic, and supporting minor cleanup of Python notebooks.
• Consolidate qualitative feedback and patterns from member meetings, surveys, and program interactions into organized summaries.
• Conduct landscape analysis on how peer organizations manage subgrantee data reporting, metric definitions, and data collection methodologies.
• Assist in preparing materials for both internal and external stakeholder meetings as required.
• Preference for graduate students pursuing studies in data science, public policy, economics, social sciences, or other relevant disciplines.
• Consideration given to undergraduate students in pertinent fields who possess strong analytical capabilities.
• Academic or professional experience in completing data projects that involve data processing, analysis, and visualization.
• Experience in presenting technical topics to audiences that may not have a technical background.
• Some familiarity with commonly used tools and software for data analysis and visualization, such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, R, or Python.
• Previous experience with technical or process documentation is advantageous.
• Exposure to qualitative research methodologies (including surveys, interviews, and thematic analysis) is a plus.
• This internship offers a compensation of $18.00 per hour.
