This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Strategically plan, schedule, and implement drayage operations — including port pickups, rail ramp transfers, transloads, and last-mile deliveries — within a high-volume, multimodal shipment portfolio.
• Oversee container free time, chassis availability, demurrage, and detention risks across various terminals and steamship lines while maintaining a keen focus on cost management.
• Utilize multimodal expertise to coordinate seamlessly across carrier networks and provide comprehensive end-to-end solutions.
• Act as a reliable point of contact for customers, ensuring proactive communication, real-time exception management, and consistent follow-up.
• Utilize our proprietary platform, third-party TMS, and ThoughtSpot analytics to monitor shipments, extract insights, and proactively manage exceptions.
• Review, audit, and dispute carrier invoices, including accessorials, demurrage, and per diem, with accuracy and supporting documentation.
• Execute essential administrative tasks: maintain shipment records, manage documentation workflows, generate daily exception and KPI reports, and uphold data integrity across systems.
• Assist with carrier onboarding, coordination, and relationship-building efforts.
• 3–5 years of experience in logistics operations with a direct focus on drayage and a solid multimodal background.
• In-depth understanding of port and terminal operations, intermodal rail networks, and steamship line procedures.
• Demonstrated capability to manage demurrage, detention, per diem, and accessorial disputes with thorough documentation and follow-through.
• Experience collaborating with CBP, customs brokers, and freight forwarders on import/export shipments.
• Proficient in a multi-system environment; TMS expertise is required, with familiarity in analytics tools (ThoughtSpot, Power BI, or similar) being a significant advantage.
• Advanced Excel capabilities: including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, conditional formatting, and the ability to create organized operational trackers from scratch.
• Strong administrative skills: well-organized, detail-oriented, and process-focused with a low tolerance for data inaccuracies.
• Communicates effectively and confidently with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
• Preference for candidates with UIIA familiarity and chassis provider experience.
