This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Accountable for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
• Designs and evaluates both safety and non-safety related electrical systems for nuclear and commercial projects.
• Regularly collaborates with other technical disciplines to provide electrical design and consultation.
• Utilizes knowledge and expertise, along with industry best practices, regulatory guidance, codes, and standards to ensure compliance in designs.
• Conducts various engineering calculations to document adherence to project and code specifications.
• Creates wiring diagrams, single line drawings, and control architectural drawings/specifications.
• Aids in the preparation of design documents and modifications for plant systems.
• Engages in mentoring and quality reviews for junior colleagues as necessary.
• Performs checks to guarantee the accuracy of design documentation.
• Assists in the installation and testing of site systems and components.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical or engineering field is required.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience is necessary.
• Experience within the nuclear industry is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Conceptual understanding of CE&I Systems design software and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Capability to perform complex technical tasks with minimal supervision.
• Advanced understanding and application of fundamental principles and concepts pertaining to electrical design.
• Experience in contributing to the design of electrical systems (e.g., on-site distribution (AC and DC), off-site interfaces (switchyard), grounding and lighting protection, plant lighting systems, battery system design, communications systems, or diesel generators).
• Increasing familiarity with nuclear regulatory guidance (e.g., NUREG-0800 Ch. 8).
• Experience in applying relevant codes and standards (IEEE, IEC, EPRI).
