This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the design, development, testing, and supervision of the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects.

• Responsible for the design and analysis of both safety and non-safety related structures for nuclear and commercial initiatives.

• Collaborates with various technical disciplines (mechanical, nuclear, operations, and electrical engineering teams) for structural design and layout.

• Utilizes knowledge and experience, industry best practices, regulatory guidance, codes and standards, and sound engineering judgment to ensure the design meets International regulatory criteria and industry best practices.

• Conducts a range of engineering calculations using traditional methods or Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to verify compliance with project and code requirements.

• Produces and is knowledgeable about layout plans, foundation specifics, steelwork details, and architectural feature designs.

• Aids in the preparation and approval of design documents and plant modifications.

• Ensures that relevant design criteria, specifications, practices, procedures, and codes, as well as site design and safety and licensing basis, are applied in the creation of design media.

• Performs checks to guarantee the accuracy of design media in accordance with company policies and client expectations.

• Works within assigned timelines to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and promptness of work, initiating corrective actions to address any delays.

• Supports the installation and testing of site systems and components.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical or engineering field is required.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is necessary.

• Preference for candidates with experience in the nuclear industry.

• Strong communication skills are essential.

• Basic knowledge of FEA and other civil design software as well as Microsoft Office is required.

• Comprehensive understanding of strength of materials and structural mechanics is necessary.

• Ability to perform complex technical work with minimal supervision is expected.

• Familiarity with industry standards and design codes such as ASME, ACI, ASCE, and AISC is important.

• Experience in conducting seismic and impact-based dynamic analyses is preferred.

• Knowledge of geotechnical and geophysical engineering is beneficial.

• Background in modular design development of SSCs is required.

• Experience collaborating with designers and manufacturers to create models and drawings; familiarity with software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Tekla, and Revit is advantageous.

• Must be a U.S. citizen to be considered.
