This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Perform technical assessments of proposed project locations to evaluate their suitability for facility construction.
• Examine subsurface conditions, including soil properties, groundwater status, slope stability, settlement potential, and load-bearing capacity.
• Create and assess foundation recommendations stemming from geotechnical investigations.
• Oversee site grading, earthwork, excavation, retaining wall structures, drainage systems, and stormwater management designs.
• Evaluate geotechnical engineering reports and civil site designs prepared by consulting architecture/engineering firms.
• Ensure that engineering designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and established geotechnical engineering practices.
• Coordinate utility distribution layouts, including domestic water, fire protection, wastewater, lift stations, storm drainage, and associated infrastructure.
• Act as the technical expert for intricate geotechnical engineering challenges that influence construction viability, long-term performance of facilities, and project expenses.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Proven experience conducting site evaluations and reviewing geotechnical reports for large commercial, institutional, industrial, or federal projects.
• Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining DOJ/BOP suitability and facility access.
