This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +4 more countries.
• Shape, lead, and expand the Foundation’s partnerships and influence throughout Europe, excluding the UK, as well as the Middle East and Africa.
• Foster relationships, ecosystems, and opportunities that enable greater access to high-quality digital education for children and teachers.
• Concentrate on partnerships in Spain while developing insights and relationships in Africa, serving as a point of contact for the Middle East.
• Report directly to the Chief Partnerships Officer as a member of the Global Partnerships Team.
• Implement country strategies, identify opportunities to enhance reach and impact, secure investments and funding, cultivate strategic relationships, and oversee programs.
• Ensure regional partnerships are in alignment with national priorities and enhance the EMEA micro:bit ecosystem.
• Execute the Foundation’s established EMEA strategy, prioritizing Spain and developing knowledge and connections within Africa.
• Identify prospects for pilot programs and collaborations and oversee their delivery as necessary.
• Maintain plans for priority countries and explore future opportunities in these regions.
• Monitor the regional digital education landscape for emerging opportunities and potential risks.
• Build and sustain relationships with governments, Ministries of Education, NGOs, and partners.
• Represent the Foundation in partnership negotiations and support funding discussions.
• Advance relationships and existing commitments across the broader EMEA region.
• Lead the expansion of global programs such as do your :bit, micro:bit Champions, and micro:bit Live.
• Collaborate with Operations to meet local data privacy and compliance standards.
• Share insights from partners and educators with the Product team to enhance localization.
• Represent the Foundation at regional conferences and partner meetings.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for EMEA-related matters during the coverage period.
• Work cross-functionally with teams in Education, Product, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Research & Impact.
• A strong belief in the Foundation’s mission to broaden participation in digital creativity and coding, particularly among girls and under-represented groups.
• Proven experience working on a global scale, with an established international network and the ability to expand it.
• Experience collaborating with governments, NGOs, or international education organizations.
• Capability to unite individuals with diverse skills and objectives around a shared goal.
• Ability to demonstrate the micro:bit and articulate its significance within education systems and curricula.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation abilities.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
• An entrepreneurial mindset with a knack for identifying opportunities.
• Experience within the education sector (K12 preferred over Higher Education).
• Familiarity with the African and/or European digital and computing landscapes and ecosystems is preferred.
• Proficiency in an additional language (French / Spanish / Arabic / or other) is preferred.
• Understanding of the Edtech market, including both hardware and software, is preferred.
• Experience working alongside a fundraising manager to secure funding or generate income through partnerships is desirable.
