This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the transmission interconnection requests for Apex’s array of projects across various ISOs (PJM, SPP, MISO, ISONE, NYISO, ERCOT, WECC) by managing and/or conducting deliverability studies, submitting interconnection requests, monitoring queue progress, and collaborating with system operators and transmission owners on design, schedule, and cost at a project-specific level.
• Analyze and interpret the outcomes of Feasibility, System Impact, and Facility Studies in each ISO and assess their impact on the expected commercial timeline and interconnection expenses for a project.
• Supervise technical project specifics and engage closely with electrical design consultants.
• Assist Project Management and Project Finance by effectively conveying interconnection requirements, projected costs, interconnection service constraints, construction timelines, and conducting fatal flaw assessments.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that may influence project financing or offtake.
• Offer commercial and strategic advice, with the backing of senior management, regarding the company’s development pipeline, M&A prospects, and operational assets.
• Develop or enhance existing technical and project management tools to facilitate more efficient oversight of the interconnection project portfolio.
• Monitor modifications to interconnection tariffs nationwide and participate in technical ISO/stakeholder workshops as needed.
• Execute other project development tasks as assigned.
• Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.
• Master’s Degree and/or PhD in electrical engineering is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical engineering.
• At least 1 year of experience managing interconnection projects across multiple ISOs.
• Experience in overseeing consulting engineering firms and/or contractors.
