This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, construct, configure, and sustain the enterprise integration platform and middleware environments.
• Engineer and uphold integration interfaces, data pipelines, message queues, and event-driven workflows.
• Develop configurations for the platform, manage connection settings, and establish interface administration procedures.
• Monitor the health, performance, availability, security posture, and error rates of the platform.
• Diagnose and rectify integration failures, data pipeline errors, middleware incidents, and API issues.
• Escalate intricate or cross-domain incidents to senior engineering and integration leaders.
• Enhance platform reliability, throughput, performance, capacity, and operational efficiency.
• Design and manage API configurations, policies, gateway settings, security controls, documentation, inventories, and lifecycle management.
• Administer message brokers, enterprise service buses, and event streaming platforms.
• Support middleware upgrades, patching, and version management in accordance with ITIL 4 change practices.
• Engineer integration security in alignment with FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust principles.
• Manage certificates, credentials, and secrets; assist with security assessments and audit evidence collection.
• Engineer integrations across on-premises systems, AWS, AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, and Microsoft 365.
• Support Azure Integration Services, including Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, and API Management.
• Develop and implement integration test plans, regression tests, validation procedures, and end-to-end testing.
• Maintain test documentation, results, defect records, architecture documentation, and configuration records.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, platform operations, application, and Microsoft teams on requirements, testing, architecture, and capacity planning.
• Provide quality assurance data for release readiness evaluations.
• Minimum of 4–6 years of practical experience in enterprise integration engineering and middleware operations.
• Experience in designing, building, and operating enterprise integration platforms and middleware at scale.
• Proficiency in API management platform engineering and API security configuration.
• Experience in data pipeline design and engineering for enterprise application environments.
• Familiarity with cloud integration engineering, including Azure Integration Services or similar AWS integration services.
• Experience in a Federal or private-sector enterprise environment of comparable scale, complexity, and security posture.
• Capability to independently resolve complex integration and middleware engineering challenges.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP-authorized integration platforms and Federal integration security requirements.
• Experience in implementing integration security controls in accordance with NIST SP 800-53.
• Expert-level proficiency in enterprise integration platform engineering, API management and security configuration, middleware administration, data pipeline engineering and operations, integration security engineering, REST and SOAP APIs, and cloud integration engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure Government integration patterns; JSON, XML, and data transformation technologies; integration testing methodologies and tools; CI/CD pipeline concepts; FedRAMP requirements; Zero Trust Architecture; NIST SP 800-53; ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow; ITIL 4 practices; and scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
• Preferred certifications include MuleSoft Certified Developer, MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Integration Services Specialty, AWS Certified Developer – Associate, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).
• Preferred experience with Federal civilian agency environments, Agile/Scrum, event-driven architecture, observability tools, FISMA assessment and authorization, GraphQL, and containerized deployments.
