Certification Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Ensure that product development initiatives culminate in certifiable aircraft.

• Collaborate with both internal and external engineering teams, DERs, and the ACO to progress programs toward certification.

• Strategize, construct, and oversee project certification plans.

• Work closely with design, systems, and production engineers on 14 CFR Part 23 type certification.

• Manage intricate project timelines, encompassing planning, updates, and milestone progress tracking.

• Develop, assess, and submit product safety and certification documentation.

• Efficiently organize and catalog certification records.

• Facilitate and lead meetings focused on design, testing, and certification activities.

• Direct project management responsibilities for significant changes and new product design and certification efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience leading FAA certification initiatives.

• Proficiency in utilizing modern project management tools.

• Experience in drafting professional and effective written reports on technical matters.

• In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, particularly 14 CFR Part 23.

• Preferred experience in composite design and fabrication.

• Familiarity with 3D modeling software, ideally SolidWorks (preferred).

• PMP certification is a plus (preferred).

• Possess high intellectual curiosity, an entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills.

• Quick learner with a proven track record of initiative.

• Capable of functioning effectively in both team environments and independently.

• Demonstrate unquestionable ethics and personal integrity.
