Insurance Verification Specialist – Biologic, Immunotherapy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Verify the eligibility of patient insurance, including coverage, benefits, deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance.

• Engage with insurance companies through phone, online portals, or electronic verification systems to gather precise coverage details.

• Confirm prior authorization and referral prerequisites for scheduled services and procedures.

• Update patient insurance information within electronic medical records (EMR).

• Professionally respond to incoming calls from internal clinic offices.

• Identify and rectify discrepancies in insurance data prior to the provision of services.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of verification efforts and communications.

• Collaborate closely with scheduling, billing, coding, and clinical teams.

• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and uphold patient confidentiality.

• Stay informed on insurance policies, payer requirements, and regulatory updates as communicated by the credentialing team.

• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Revenue Cycle Operation Senior Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in insurance verification, medical billing, healthcare administration, or a related field.

• Understanding of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed care plans.

• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical billing software.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Outlook.
