Coder, Provider Practice – Physical, Occupational, Speech Therapy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as a resource for healthcare providers to comprehend covered indications and required documentation.

• Assist technical and professional services within provider clinics, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, and hospital professional services.

• Understand and facilitate Medicare and Commercial Carrier workflows related to daily coding, denial reviews, and appeals management.

• Prepare necessary supporting documents and information for appeals.

• Monitor and ensure accuracy in physician charge capture.

• Work autonomously, manage multiple tasks, solve problems, and provide accurate recommendations to medical professionals.

• Engage in coding team meetings and act as a subject matter expert.

• Review medical documentation while assigning modifiers, diagnostic codes, and procedure codes.

• Assess compliance with laws, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.

• Deliver precise and timely ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and CPT coding.

• Conduct reviews and audits of medical records to support appropriate service reimbursement.

• Communicate coding guidelines to physicians and healthcare providers to enhance documentation accuracy.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate degree in Health Information Technology or a Certification in Coding is required.

• Required certifications include RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CPC-A, CCS, CCS-P, CCS-H, or COC.

• If not certified at the time of hire, the certification must be achieved within one year of employment.

• Specific knowledge of diagnostic and procedural terminology is essential.

• Successful completion of coursework from an accredited institution in ICD diagnosis, CPT, HCPCS coding schemes, medical terminology, or human anatomy/physiology is preferred.

• Proficient computer skills are necessary.

• Ability to interpret, analyze, and abstract data and documentation is required.

• Strong problem-solving abilities are needed.

• Self-motivated individuals are encouraged to apply.
