Insurance Specialist – Revenue Cycle

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Completes details on insurance documentation.

• Fills out 1500 HCFA insurance forms according to specifications mandated by insurance providers to ensure prompt payment.

• Maintains a solid understanding of billing specifications for Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and Commercial insurance.

• Reviews 1500 forms for demographic, CPT, and charge accuracy.

• Assists insurance companies with inquiries about accounts concerning insurance benefit deposits.

• Follows up on outstanding claims for both insurance and patients.

• Identifies overpayments on patient accounts and initiates the refund and adjustment process.

• Communicates with the Accounts Receivable Manager regarding areas of concern.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Productive typing speed of at least 30 words per minute is required.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team are required.

• Ability to maintain accurate financial records and perform mathematical tasks is required.

• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding is required.

• At least two years of experience in a medical billing setting, dealing with insurance and patient claims processing, is required.
