Insurance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Manage claims inventory to decrease outstanding accounts receivable.

• Communicate professionally with patients and insurance companies regarding their outstanding balances.

• Collect information from patients, family members, clinical areas, government agencies, employers, third-party payors, and medical payment programs.

• Request, enter, verify, and update patient demographic data, primary care provider details, and payor information.

• Deliver exceptional customer service and respond promptly to inquiries and issues related to benefits, billing, claims, and payments.

• Respond to phone inquiries and provide service quotes; identify available financial resources.

• Utilize various databases and specialized software for revenue cycle management activities.

• Clarify charges, address questions, and communicate requirements about patient financial care services and resources to patients, staff, payors, and agencies.

• Collaborate with Claims and Collections to support patients and their families with billing and payment processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Proficient in PC-based applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Required internet download speed of 30MB or higher and upload speed of 10MB or higher.

• Must have access to a secure and private workspace.

• Preferably 2+ years of experience in medical billing and insurance follow-up.

• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payors is preferred.

• Familiarity with Professional Billing and CSM 1500 is preferred.

• Experience with Next Gen and/or MS4 is preferred.
