This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Securing authorizations for elective procedures, services, and tests
• Coding cases and analyzing clinical documentation
• Identifying and escalating financial clearance risks as necessary
• Driving essential objectives of obtaining reimbursement and reducing organizational write-offs
• Ensuring prompt follow-up on submitted authorization requests
• Reviewing and interpreting medical record documentation throughout the authorization process
• Assisting with denial management issues and securing retro-authorizations when required
• Upholding compliance with departmental quality standards
• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience in a medical setting
• Associate’s degree and 1 year of relevant experience in a medical environment required
• 3 years of experience with knowledge and interpretation of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT codes
• Familiarity with authorization processes, insurance guidelines, and third-party payors
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and manage a large workload with high efficiency and attention to detail
